Hearing loss usually occurs as you age gradually. While one can often detect the presence of hearing impairment or loss through common signs, it is necessary to get your hearing tested regularly to determine the intensity of the condition and hearing damage.
At Hearing Aid Specialists SA, we offer free hearing tests for adults which are conducted by our qualified Audiologists and Audiometrist. To examine a patient’s hearing, we perform hearing screening in two steps:
1. Hearing health check
This is a quick hearing appointment which involves a general check of the health of your ears. During the test, the patient is asked to respond to a series of sounds played through headphones.
The results of your hearing health check indicate whether you have a normal hearing or have issues with your hearing, which can further be explored in a full assessment.
2. A full hearing assessment
This comprehensive free hearing test includes three stages:
If the results of your free hearing test indicate you have hearing loss, we will proceed with your hearing consultation with our expert. Our hearing specialist will discuss with your whether you need a medical investigation or if/how hearing aids may help you.
